What Job Scout stores
Job Scout stores information you provide or create in the product so the workspace can function. Depending on how you use it, that can include your account name and email, resume content, job preferences, Favorites, user-confirmed application records, application stages and notes, saved application answers, and operational/security records needed to maintain your account and sessions.
How the information is used
Your information is used to authenticate your account, personalize and rank jobs when you opt into personalization, preserve your job-search workflow, recover account access, and operate and secure Job Scout. Favoriting or opening a job does not create an application record. Only your explicit Mark applied action does that.
Cookies and session state
Job Scout uses strictly necessary secure, HttpOnly cookies to keep sign-in and session state working. The primary job_ops_session cookie is used for signed-in and demo sessions. A separate short-lived OAuth linking cookie can be used during that sign-in flow. These cookies are not used for advertising, cross-site tracking, session replay, or behavioral profiling.
Service providers
Job Scout currently relies on infrastructure and account-delivery services including Vercel, Supabase, and Resend. Those providers process limited information as needed to host the application, authenticate accounts, store product data, or deliver transactional email.
External job sites
Employer sites, applicant-tracking systems, and other external links are separate services with their own privacy practices. Job Scout cannot see or infer that you submitted an application on another site merely because you opened its link.
Demo sessions
The public demo is a disposable sandbox. Demo sessions are issued with a 24-hour session lifetime. After a demo session expires or is revoked, that disposable demo identity becomes eligible for the product's bounded demo-cleanup process, which removes demo-owned rows through the registered purge graph. Cleanup is not represented as an immediate-delete guarantee, so do not put sensitive personal information into the demo.
Resume deletion
Signed-in members can delete the active resume from Job Scout. That action clears the stored resume text and extracted resume evidence on the active profile and deletes cached fit-score rows derived from that profile. It does not silently erase unrelated preferences or application history.
Retention and account deletion
Job Scout does not currently enforce one fixed automatic deletion period for all durable member-account data. Account, preference, application, answer, and operational/security records can remain while the account and product workflow require them unless a narrower deletion action applies. Signed-in members can permanently delete their account from account settings; that deletion removes the member account and registered private Job Scout data, including private resume and cover-letter files and member-owned Intel records. The product therefore does not publish a fabricated universal passive-retention deadline.
Human control
Job Scout never auto-submits an application for you. Favoriting or opening a job does not create an application. Only your explicit Mark applied / Track application confirmation does. Live Intelligence watches and research checks cannot change Fit, eligibility Gate, Priority, or application status.
Security
Job Scout uses access controls and secure account/session mechanisms intended to keep member workspaces private. No internet service can guarantee absolute security, so avoid storing information that is unnecessary for your job search.
